Strawberry Pickin"

Last weekend we went to Calhoun farms to pick some strawberries. After strawberry pickin’ we also enjoyed some homemade strawberry ice cream which was good, not as good as Calhoun’s thought it was since it was the most expensive ice cream I have ever eaten!

Here are some pictures I was able to get. Zaynah was more interested in the playground then the actually strawberries as you can see!

Easter Sunday

Here are some pics of the kids from Easter. They all did a excellent job in the Easter program! I was so very proud!

Update on the kids

Well a few things have been going on with the kids this past week.

1. Shayla’s soccer team also won thier divison. I received a call from her coach last week stating he was going to bring her trophy by the house since the Rec department did not get them to the team until after the season was over. We are still waiting on the coach to come by the house and drop off the trophy!

2. Shayla has also been learning how to cook, she has spent the last two weekends with her Grannie helping her cook Sunday dinner. Yesterday since I was sick she took over my Sunday tradition of baking a cake, (James helped her a little). I am not a big fan of Carrot cake but it looked beautiful! Shayla has already told Grandma she was coming to help her cook for Thanksgiving…now if she would only want to wash dishes! My life would be great!

3. Shayla also joined the Praise team at Grannie Church..more to come on that later I am sure.

4. Tai bribed his parents, grannie and auntie into selling candy for him at school. Between all of us he sold enough to ride in the limo next week. This past Friday though he also got a chance to spin the wheel at school, whatever number he landed on he got that much money. Well he landed on 10 and won $10.00! I am very proud of my little man, he still has six dollars left over from the birthday money he received from my mothers second born and he just added the $10.00 to it. James said since Tai was so good at saving his money he was going to open him up a savings account at the bank so he can grow his money some.

5. Zaynah is still Zaynah, spoiled as ever! But she is also a lot of joy, she makes us laugh all the time!

And that is it for what is going on in the kiddies lives this week.

Pictures from Soccer

Today was the first game I actually got to see, due to being away at training for the past few weeks. I am happy to say the Gators (Tai’s team) is 2-0 for the year! He has a great coach, really good with kids Tai’s age.

Below are some pictures I snapped at the game and a short video of the game itself. When watching the video remember Tai is number 11.

My two Stars!

Tai and Zaynah Warrior Fighters!

I had to share this story with everyone. Zaynah is now in her “idolize” stage and the person she Idolizes right now is Tai. When Zaynah had her birthday money she went to the store to buy her gift. She decided not to buy color books, crayons or even a new baby. No she decided to buy herself a new sword, shield and axe so she could play with big brother Tai in his “fighting” game! I snapped this pics of them when they got back from the store, as you can see they were very eager to start the game and were not so eager to take pictures!

Can everyone say “Daddy has created a monster!” LOL

TAI’S AWARD CERMONY

The first award ceremony we attended today was for our little man Tai. Tai also received a trophy for Accelerated reading, earning 37 AR points. (He only needed 25 to earn the trophy). He also won a certificate for having a average AR test score above 80 percent, and a medal for having the highest AR scores and points in his class. Here are some pictures from the award ceremony.

Before the ceremony we had a chance to talk with his teacher as well as his speech teacher. I am so proud of our son! He scored exceeds expectations on all his CRCT tests, (this is the test to determine placement and promotion for the next grade), he is reading on a second grade level, he made a 100% on all his sight words up until the 3rd grade level, (the speech teacher remarked this was very unusual for one of her students to do), and he has pulled his speech test grade up from a 66% when he first began to a 93% this year. She explained to us that this meant he could now be understood 89% of the time by strangers who are not familiar with his speech pattern.

He is still having trouble blending sounds and with his “R”s” but so do I so I can’t complain! LOL His speech teacher also put our minds to ease about Tai’s trouble spelling. She feels it is due to his speech and the fact that he tends to spell the words like he would say them, which is why he Will leave letters out of the word. The speech teacher as well as his classroom teacher went on and on about how much they love him and how polite and sweet he is. Tai has been with his speech teacher now for two years, and she stated that is one reason why she is glad she teaches speech so she can keep the kids she loves the entire time they are at JS Pate!

As you can see I am very proud of both of my children! I swear my head is so big right now from all the compliments we have received today I am sure you can see it from wherever you are!

Tai’s Tooth

Well after much drama tonight Tai has now lost his second tooth! It was bound to come out sometime since the replacement tooth has already started growing in.

Poor lil man wanted to tooth to just fall out by itself with no assistance from him, momma or Daddy. But when it was all said and done Daddy stepped in and one little tug out the tooth came.

After the tooth drama we had a overflow in the bathroom, Tai was rinsing out the wash cloth he used to pull out the tooth and in all the excitment forgot to turn off the water! A few minutes later we had a mini pond in the bathroom, but it was all good, cleaned up easy and the kids are off to bed!

Aww the joys of parenthood!
