James New Puppy

puppy Pictures, Images and Photos

Saturday while we were off in Albany, James picked up a new puppy. She is a Jack Russell mixed with ????. She came from the same home we got Pebbles from and from what we have noticed about her so far she seems to be a very sweet, gentle tempermental type of dog. I say this because yesterday she spent most of the day being carried around by Zaynah. She did not growl, snap or anything. Just enjoyed (as much as a dog can enjoy I guess) being carried around by Zaynah.

We have kept the new puppy from “Ganster Pebbles” because of the episode we had between Pebbles and Lucky a few months back. We do not want a hurt or dead puppy on our hands. So we are trying to slowly get Pebbles used to the new puppy.

Last night after all the kiddies were in bed, I went into the den to let the dogs out before going to bed myself. I noticed that the new puppy was gone from her cage. Earlier, Zaynah had let the puppy out of her cage, because she “didn’t want to be mean” so I thought she had let her out again and the puppy was hiding in the den from Pebbles. After searching all over the den no puppy could be found. I then enlisted the help of James and Lynn to find the puppy, after searching the den, living room and Shayla’s room something told me to check Zaynah’s bed. After pulling back the covers, there was Zaynah cluthing the puppy around the neck sleeping.

Looks like the puppy is not James after all! I will upload some pics later today of the two of them.

Pebbles….A true Gangster

Friday James surprised me with two new Cocketails…the name they came to the house with was Pretty Boy and Pretty Girl…that was too unoriginal for me, so I re-named them. I named my first Cocketail “Hawk” after Road Warrior Hawk (RIP) so I decided to name the new additions, Animal and Precious (after Road Warrior Animal and their manager Precious Paul Ellering) See more original don’t you think?

Friday James also decided to bring Lucky, Jo Lena dog that we foster cared for awhile back, over to the house to let him come in from the cold out side. When Lucky first came into the house we let Jake out of his “den” to get used to Lucky so that they could all run around the house together. Things went pretty well with these two, just a lot of sniffing around, and looking, but no growling, biting, nothing like that. So far so good.

In the mean time, Pebbles was growling and barking in her den to get out at the new dog she smelled. Now Lucky is a mixed breed we think he is part collie, part Chow…sweetest dog in the world, but he has a little size to him. I mean if I was a little 10 pound Jack Russell I would think twice about tangling with him. Not our Pebbles though! James told me to let her out so she could get used to Lucky and see he meant her no harm. So I did.

As soon as Pebbles got out of the cage she came running into the living room and jumped on Lucky! All I seen was growling, barking and growling and pulling! Pebbles had grabbed a mouthful of Lucky’s hair and started pulling! Then Jake..for reasons only known to Jake decided to jump in and bark and growl too! Me being me, started to panic and scream, James just reached down and grabbed Pebbles by her collar and held her up. Then I started yelling at Jake to be more friendly to our guest! They both got sent back to their den, and Lucky got to run around the house on his own.

The next day, when James went to let all the dogs out, Pebbles was ready to tangle again! She growled at Lucky the whole time she was carried through the kitchen. Later James thought he would just let Pebbles run around the front of the house and have Jake and Lucky run around the back of the house. Sounds like a plan huh?

Nope…as soon as Pebbles saw Lucky again…she leaped over the baby gate and went at him again! This time James didn’t even let her get close to Lucky before picking her up by the collar and putting her back in her den. She stayed there the rest of the day until Lucky went home.

Who would have thought that we would have a true G in the house, in the form of a 10 pound dog? So word to the wise…don’t mess with Pebbles!

Pebbles

Sometime I don’t know who makes me smile and laugh more, our kids or our dogs! Tonight Pebbles our Jack Russell had me in stiches. First a little background.

When ever anyone in our home goes to the ice maker, if the dogs are out, Pebbles is going to run up and wait for her piece of ice. For some reason Pebbles thinks ice is a treat and she loves to eat it. When Jake first joined our family he wasn’t really feeling the ice is a treat thing, but now he is usually first in line ( I think this has to do more with competition with Pebbles than actually wanting to eat ice!) Well anyways since it was a little warm when we got home and Jake was panting, I went ahead and dropped some ice cubes in the bowl of water for them. This became a new game of “dunking for ice” for Pebbles.

Later in the night, I seen Pebbles run by with something in her mouth. I am like “Pebbles what do you have??” Turns out she had stole one of the kids lollipops, and was running trying eat to it without being caught, to bad she was busted!

After these pictures were taken she tried to go and “bury” her candy, while most dogs try to bury bones in the yard or dirt, Pebbles idea of burying things in under our pillows on the bed! Needless to say her hiding the candy didn’t go over too well!

I had to add this one of Jake at the end, he was looking like he was being left out!

New members of the family

Our lil family of finches is welcoming a new member who we believe was born last night (that is when we heard the chirping) although we can’t yet see the lil thing we do welcome it to our humble home!

We started out with four finches (two couples) and now with this new addition we will have six. One couple slid one baby in on us, and we didn’t’ realize it until there were five little birds sitting on the perch one morning instead of four!
