in Georgia Aquarium, girl scout trip, shayla

Saturday was a very busy day for the troop, we took in the CNN Studio tour, the Georgia Aquarium, Coke Cola World and a walk through Centennial Park.
The CNN Studio tour was interesting, we could not take any pictures during the tour due to copyright laws. We did learn some interesting things, such as Atlanta is not the only CNN studio, Saturday for instance the programming was coming out of Washington DC due to the coverage of the election that was going on. CNN was also the first 24 hour all news channel and founder of course by Ted Turner (who I think is a genius, I remember when TBS was a station coming out of Atlanta that was nothing but Brady bunch re-runs and of course Nigh tracks every Friday and Saturday night!)
After the tour of CNN, we went to the Georgia Aquarium which was by far my favorite visit! I had never been here before and really didn’t know what to expect. We started the visit off with a 4D movie about ocean life (cartoon) which all the girls and mothers loved. Then a walk through the aquarium, the pictures I took can in no way do these exhibits justice. All the large tanks were so beautiful. I could have sat and watched them forever. There were some tanks where you actually walked under them, giving you the illusion that you were walking through the water. I really can’t describe it, all I can do is highly recommend a visit to the Georgia Aquarium. Just pack a lunch though, or plan to spend ALOT in the cafeteria there.
Here are some more pictures I took during our visit there, again remember these do not do the Aquarium any justice, your truly have to see it to believe how beautiful it is.
This is a view of one of the tanks that surrounded you as you went under, there were fish on either side of you as well as above your head!
This was one of my fave exhibits, this whale was actually saved from a roadside aquarium in Mexico, the owners gave him to the Georgia Aquarium because they knew he would have a better home. It was such a sweet creature, the whole time we were there he performed for all the people who were standing there looking at him, the other two whales were off towards the back ignoring everyone! But this little guy loved the attention!
My sister mentioned taking Savannah to the Aquarium next visit to Georgia, I think children especially will love it, I want to take Zaynah and Tai for a visit as well, I think they will enjoy walking though the water with the fish!
